AUTORESPONDERS

Configuring Autoresponders in cPanel

Autoresponder messages are messages sent automatically in response to a received email, such as informing someone of days they’ll be out-of-office or in response to their emails.

Adding an Autoresponder in cPanel

1. You can use unformatted text or HTML in an autoresponder message, as well as setting up more than one for a specific account.

a. Type autoresponder into the find functions box

b. Click on the “Autoresponders” icon.

c. Choose the option to Add Autoresponder.

d. Choose the Character Set you’d like the autoresponder to use. In most cases, the default utf8 will be fine.

e. Type the Interval that you’d like the autoresponder to wait to send a response to the same email address. This is set in hours and 24 hours is a good choice.

f. Choose the Email that the autoresponder should send responses from.

g. Choose the domain the autoresponder should use to send responses.

h. Optionally, you may add your name or an email address in the From input area to be shown when sending an autoresponse.

i. Type the Subject of your autoresponse messages.

j. If your autoresponse includes a HTML formatted message, choose the option “This message contains HTML”.

k. Type the autoresponse message in the Body input area.

l. To configure the autoresponse to begin sending, select Immediately or Custom under Start. Alternatively, to end your autoresponder, select Never or Custom under Stop. Select Create/Modify to save your changes.
