DIRECTORY LISTING DENIED
What to do if you see the message “Directory Listing Denied, This Virtual Directory Does Not Allow Contents to Be Listed”
If you are seeing the message “Directory Listing Denied, This Virtual Directory Does Not Allow Contents to Be Listed”, site indexing may be disabled for your domain. This might happen if you set your site to “No Indexing” in cPanel, which will cause the website to display an error 403, indicating that displaying this information is forbidden.
Thankfully, there are many solutions to correct this type of issue.
● By disabling “No Indexing” via cPanel’s Index Manager. You can set the root folder of the affected domain to “Default System Setting”.
● Simply renaming the main page for your website to index.html or index.php. The server expects one of the previous files as the default page for your domain.
● Instead of changing the design of your site, you can instead tell your server to look for a different file name for your home page, such as home.html. You can do so by setting the Directory Index inside of .htaccess.
