Two-factor authentication, also known as 2FA or two-step verification, is an optional feature designed to provide an extra layer of security preventing unauthorised access to your Z.com account by requiring two layers of identity verification: (the first layer) your Z.com account password and (the second layer) the authentication code.    

1. Enable two-factor authentication

To enable two-factor authentication: 1. Go to our Sign-in page. 2. Enter your Email Address and Password, and proceed to log in. 3. On the right side of the top navigation bar, click on the drop-down menu and click Security Settings. 4. By default, two-factor authentication is disabled. To enable it, click Click here to Enable to enable 2FA for your Z.com account. 5. Click Get Started >>. 6. Use an authenticator app like Google Authenticator or Duo to scan the QR code. Then, enter the 6-digit code the application generates to verify, and click Submit. 7. Done! Two-factor authentication is now enabled.

* Treat the backup code the same as you would your password. We recommend saving it with a password manager. If you cannot complete two-factor authentication, the backup code is needed to access your Z.com account.

2. Disable two-factor authentication

To disable two-factor authentication: 1. Go to our Sign-in page. 2. Enter your Email Address and Password, and proceed to log in. 3. On the right side of the top navigation bar, click on the drop-down menu and click Security Settings. 4. Click here to Disable to disable 2FA for your Z.com account. 5. Enter your Z.com account password and click Disable Two-Factor Authentication. 6. Done! Two-factor authentication is now disabled.

Customers cannot manually deactivate or delete a Z.com account. Please follow the steps below before submitting a request to close your account. We recommend that customers replace their account details with invalid or random information (especially your first and last names, email addresses, etc.). To close your account: 1. Log in and replace your account details with invalid information. 2. Contact our customer support team via LiveChat or send us a ticket, providing us with your Z.com account name or email address registered on/used to log in to your account. 3. Our customer support team will process your request to close your account accordingly.

Note: Ensure that your account does not have any active services before you submit a request to close your account. Any active services have to be cancelled first. You may refer here for a guide on how to cancel your service.

If you do not know how to access your Z.com account, try the following steps: 1. Go to our Sign-in page. 2. Enter your Email Address and Password, and proceed to log in. Successful login should look like this.

Note: The Z.com Client Area is where you can manage your account information, billing invoice, payment transactions, and DNS management for domain service only. If you have web hosting with us and want to access your cPanel control panel, refer here.

Inviting a new user allows you to invite a new user to manage your account. If the invitee already has an existing user account, they can access your account using their existing login credentials. If the user still needs an account, they have to create it. 1. Go to our Sign-in page. Enter your email address and password to log in. 2. On the right side of the top navigation bar, click on the drop-down menu. 3. Click User Management. 4. Enter the email address of the new user under Invite New User. 5. You may also select the Choose Permissions option for the new user instead of the default All Permissions selected option. 6. Once done, click Send Invite.

Note: An email with the subject [An agent of Z.com (GMO Internet Group, Inc) has sent you an invite] will be sent to the new user’s email address. To accept the invite, click Accept invitation.

7. Click Accept Invite. 8. Login if the invited email has an account on Z.com or register for a new Z.com account using the invited email. A successful acceptance of an invitation should look like this.

You can change your Z.com account password directly from the Z.com Client Area. 1. Go to our Sign-in page. 2. Enter your Email Address and Password, and proceed to log in. 3. On the right side of the top navigation bar, click on the drop-down menu and click Change Password. 4. Enter your Existing Password (current), New Password, and the new password again under Confirm New Password. 5. Once done, click Save Changes.

Note: You may also choose to Generate Password for strong, complex, and random passwords to significantly enhance your online security and reduce the likelihood of unauthorised access to your Z.com account.

We recommend keeping your account profile information up-to-date to help keep your account secure. Your account profile includes details such as your first and last name, address, email address, default payment method, phone number, etc. 1. Go to our Sign-in page. 2. Enter your Email Address and Password, and proceed to log in. 3. On the right side of the top navigation bar, click on the drop-down menu and click Account Details. 4. Update your account profile information by filling in the correct details accordingly.

Tips: • Please ensure your account details are written using only English alphabet letters (our system only allows a-z, A-Z, 0-9). • Do not let your Address 1 be too long. Consider splitting your contact address information into Address 1 and Address 2 fields. • No need to include country codes in the phone number field.

5. Click Save Changes once completed. • For Email Preferences, you may check or uncheck the boxes according to your preference. • To join our mailing list, toggle the option to either yes or no.

The email address on your account is a significant detail that allows the email account holder to receive important updates, billing notices, and more. Most importantly, the email account holder can change the primary account password, giving them full possession of the account. For these reasons, the email address must belong to the account owner. Before changing the email address you use to log in to your Z.com account, note that our system uses the login email address as your account username. The email address used in your Account Details can differ from the login email address. What is the difference between the email address in Account Details and Your Profile? The email address in Account Details: used to receive all important email notifications regarding your account and services Your Profile: used for account login only • If you want to change the email address used to receive emails related to your account and services, please update the email address in Account Details. • If you want to change the email address used for login, please update the email address in Your Profile.   Encountering Login Details Incorrect. Please try again. error upon login after making changes. If so, it is likely because you updated the email address in Account Details, but the email address (saved in Your Profile) has not been updated yet. Please use the old email address to log in first.

Note: To avoid confusion, we recommend changing and updating the email addresses in both Account Details and Your Profile. This means using the same email address for both login and receiving emails related to your account and services.

To resolve the login error, update the email address in Your Profile: 1. Go to our Sign-in page. 2. Enter your old Email Address and Password, and proceed to log in. 3. On the right side of the top navigation bar, click on the drop-down menu and click Your Profile. 4. Update the email address in the Email Address field, then Save Changes. 5. To test changes, log out of your account and log back in using the new email address and your current password.
