Common Domain Transfer-Out Errors
Rest assured that Z.com does not hold a domain should customers wish to transfer the registration to another registrar.
If you encounter issues transferring your domain, please check the common errors and resolution.
*You can disable the registrar lock and turn off WHOIS privacy protection here.
*You may view your domain’s Auth/EPP code here.
1. Failure due to WHOIS Privacy (ID Protection) being active
When WHOIS Privacy (or ID Protection) is enabled, the domain transfer may fail because the domain registrar requires the registrant’s contact details to be visible for interregistry verification.
– Disable WHOIS Privacy: Log in to your Z.com account and turn off WHOIS Privacy (Domain Privacy Protection).
– Check for pending verification: If the issue persists, verify whether any recent changes were made to the domain settings.
If you recently updated the WHOIS information, check your email for a verification request and complete the approval process.
2. Failure to verify the email transfer approval
When the transfer approval email is not verified, the domain transfer will fail, as the gaining registrar cannot proceed without the registrant’s approval.
– Check the registrant’s email and WHOIS information: Ensure the email is correct and up-to-date, and the transfer approval email has been received and approved.
– No access to registrant email: Transfer order may need to be cancelled first. Please contact our customer support team for further assistance.
– Domain in Grace Period: You cannot update the WHOIS information if the domain is within the Grace Period. If so, please contact our customer support team for further assistance.
