Mistakes can happen, and deleting the wrong file or folder in cPanel is not an exclusion.
When prompted with the option to “Skip the trash and permanently delete the files”, kindly note always to leave the box unchecked, as when a file or a folder is in the trash, it is still within the File Manager. Therefore, it has not yet been deleted from the trash permanently.
Here is a guide on how to restore a deleted file or folder in cPanel File Manager:
- There is a button called View trash on the toolbar. Click on it to see the deleted files that you can restore.
- Select the file/folder you would like to restore.
- Next, click Restore from the top toolbar. Alternatively, you can right-click on the file and select Restore from the drop-down menu.
- Confirm that you want to restore.
