How to check and update your Domain Nameservers settings

Your domain’s nameservers determine where your website and email services are hosted. If you need to confirm or update these settings, you can easily look them up online. Simply visit ICANN Lookup, enter your domain name, and you will see the current nameserver details.

Note: At Z.com, we provide two default nameserver options depending on your service setup:

• Default Z.com DNS nameservers – used when managing your domain DNS with Z.com, including domains pointing to external services or hosting providers (for DNS changes, please refer to our guide on how to edit your domain DNS).
01.dnsv.jp, 02.dnsv.jp, 03.dnsv.jp, 04.dnsv.jp

• Z.com hosting nameservers – used when your domain and hosting service are both hosted with Z.com.
ns-wh1.web.z.com, ns-wh2.web.z.com

• Custom nameservers – if preferred, you may also use your own nameservers or those provided by another service provider.
ns1.example.com, ns2.example.com

If your domain is registered with Z.com, this article will guide you through checking and updating your nameserver settings.

1. Go to our Sign-in page.

2. Enter your Email Address and Password, and proceed to log in.

3. On the left side of the top navigation bar, click on the Domains drop-down menu and click My Domains or DOMAINS directly.

4. Click on the settings icon on the right side of your domain.

5. Click Nameservers on the left side under Manage.

6 For this step, you can either (a) use Z.com’s default nameservers or (b) configure your own custom nameservers, depending on your needs.

(a) Here, you can check and update where your domain points to. Once done, click Change Nameservers.

(b) Similarly, for our custom nameservers. Once done, click Change Nameservers.

Note: Please be aware that propagating changes on your domain nameservers can take up to 24 hours.
