A domain in ClientHold status typically indicates that it is temporarily suspended due to a lack of email verification within the given time frame (14 days after registration). The on-hold domain will cease to operate, website and email will not be accessible until the registrant’s email in the WHOIS database has been verified.
When is Email Address Verification Necessary?
Domain information verification is the process of confirming the validity of the domain registrant’s email address. Verification is required if any of the following conditions are met:
• Newly registered domain (including bulk domain purchase)
• Changing the email address of the registrant in the WHOIS information (unverified one)
• Transferring the domain from other providers to Z.com
The procedure has a deadline, and domains that have not completed the verification by the deadline will be subject to usage restrictions.
How do we resolve the ClientHold status?
An important email requiring verification was sent to the email contact listed on the domain’s WHOIS record. After a set amount of time (14 days), with no response from that email, the registrar suspended the domain entirely by setting it into ClientHold status.
To activate the domain under pending (ClientHold) status for:
1. Newly registered domains
Verify your email using the verification email received in the email address you used upon registration.
2. Recently modified domain contact
Locate the email received in the inbox of the new email address you updated to confirm the contact change information.
3. Recently transferred domain
Confirm the accuracy of your domain contact information. If changes are necessary, follow the instructions on updating your domain contact information. Click here and choose the option to send the email confirmation to the [New Registrant] and [Current Admin] contacts. Two identical emails will be sent for verification. Please ensure you can access the email you used to set up your domain contact information.
Once accepted and the steps in the verification link are followed, do allow some time for our registrar to update and remove the ClientHold status.
* Kindly check for emails within your spam/junk folder if there are none within your inbox.
