Transferring your domain to Z.com ensures you keep your remaining registration contract, with an extra year added at no cost. This article will provide a detailed guide on how to transfer your domain from another provider to Z.com.
We recommend using one provider for your domain name and hosting, as it makes managing your account easier and more efficient.
Note: There are two ways to transfer your domain to Z.com, depending on whether you are (a) a new or (b) an existing customer. Before you proceed please make sure that domain is Unlocked, you have the domain EPP Code and whois proxy is not active.
2. Choose Transfer Your Existing Domain to Zcom.
3. Click Transfer to start the checking for the domain transfer eligibility.
Note: If an error occurred after clicking the [Transfer] button, kindly review the Disclaimer list to check your domain transfer eligibility and to know what to do next or contact us through our support channels for further assistance.
(b) For existing customers
1. Go to our Sign-in page. Enter your Email Address and Password, proceed and log in.
2. On the left side of the top navigation bar, click on the Domains drop-down menu and click Transfer Domains to Us.
3. Enter the Domain Name and Authorization Code before proceeding to Add to Cart.
4. Once successfully Added, double-check the Order Summary on the right side of the page before clicking View Cart.
5. You will be redirected to the Review & Checkout page, select your desired payment method (PayPal, Debit or Credit Card) or click Checkout to finalise your order and payment.
After initiating the transfer request through your Z.com Client Area, the losing registrar will verify the validity of the transfer request. This may differ from one to another registry so please check transfer policy on your current registrar to complete and verify the domain transfer.
Common Errors in Domain Transfer
Here are a few reasons why a domain transfer might not proceed as expected:
– Incorrect or outdated contact information associated with the domain whois.

– Registrant contact details between the current registrar and the gaining registrar mismatch.
– Domain is within the first 60 days of initial registration or a previous transfer.
– Pending disputes or legal issues related to the domain.
– Failure to verify the email transfer confirmation.
– Technical issues with the domain registry or registrar systems.

The transfer process for expired domains
Domain transfers are not allowed once a domain has expired. To successfully process the transfer in our system, please ensure the domain transfer is initiated at least 15 days before its expiration date.
NameServer Change: Required for Domain Transfer?
Transferring a domain does not require updating the NameServer. Proceed with the transfer without changing the NameServer during the order process. Otherwise, please note that updating the domain DNS/nameservers may require a propagation time of 24 to 48 hours before your website and emails resume service.
– If your domain is already using Z.com’s nameservers, you will not experience downtime. Once the transfer completes, your website and services will continue to function.
– If your website and email service are hosted by another provider, your domain nameservers must use current provider nameserver settings. These allow your website and its services to continue to function without downtime.
– If you update the NameServer to Z.com’s default after the transfer, your domain might face accessibility issues due to DNS propagation. To avoid this, update the NameServer before starting the transfer. Also, be aware that you cannot update DNS settings during the transfer process.
Default Nameserver 1: ns-wh1.web.z.com
Default Nameserver 2: ns-wh2.web.z.com
Transferring a domain does not mean transferring your website or services (e.g., email) together. The website and email communication are not affected and will still be online and running during the transfer process.
