The guide video is available for your reference:
Domain redirection lets you automatically forward visitors from one domain or webpage to another destination URL. This is useful when redirecting traffic to a new website, maintaining multiple domains, or guiding visitors to updated content.
In the Z.com Client Area, you can configure domain redirection for your domain without a web hosting service or advanced technical knowledge.
If your domain is connected to a web hosting service with us, it is recommended to configure the redirect through cPanel instead.
This guide will show you how to set up domain redirection in the Z.com Client Area.
Note:
•
If you do not yet have a domain registered with us, you can visit our Domain Registration page to compare available domain extensions (TLDs), pricing, and any promotional offers that best suit your needs.
•
Domain redirection may take some time to apply due to DNS propagation.
• Ensure that the destination URL is accessible and entered correctly before saving the redirect settings.
• Redirecting a domain does not transfer website files or hosting content; it only forwards visitors to another URL.
1. Go to our
Sign-in page.
2. Enter your
Email Address and
Password, and proceed to log in.
3. On the left side of the top navigation bar, click on the
Domains drop-down menu and click
My Domains or
DOMAINS directly.
4. Aligned with the domain you would like to set up redirection for, click on the
drop-down menu and click
Redirects.
5. On the left side of the page, click
+ Redirects.
6. On the Redirects page, configure the following settings:
• Source URL (Forwarded From):
This refers to the domain, subdomain, or specific page that visitors will be redirected from.
-
Leave the subdomain and directory name fields blank to redirect the main/root domain directly.
- Enter a subdomain if you would like to redirect only a specific subdomain (e.g., blog.example.com).
- Enter a directory name if you would like to redirect only a specific page or directory (e.g., example.com/support).
• Destination URL (Forwarded To):
This refers to the destination URL where visitors will be redirected to after accessing the source URL.
-
Enter the full destination URL where you would like visitors to be redirected (e.g., mybrand.com).
7.
Select the checkbox acknowledging that Redirect settings are only applicable for the following nameservers: 01.dnsv.jp, 02.dnsv.jp, 03.dnsv.jp, and 04.dnsv.jp. Then click
Confirm to proceed.
Note: Existing website, email, or other services associated with the domain may be affected after enabling the redirect, especially if the domain is currently connected to a hosting provider. Review your current configuration before saving the redirect settings.
8. At the bottom of the Redirects page, you will find an
Advanced Settings section with additional configuration options for your domain redirection (*this section is optional; you can adjust these settings if needed).
• Redirect Types: Choose how you want your domain redirection to work.
- Permanent (301): Recommended for long-term redirects. This option informs search engines that the domain has permanently moved to a new destination URL.
- Temporary (302): Recommended for short-term redirects, such as temporary maintenance or testing purposes. Visitors will be temporarily redirected while the original URL remains active.
- Masked (URL Frame): Displays the destination website while keeping the original domain name visible in the browser address bar.
• www. Redirection: This setting controls whether your domain uses the www version or the non-www version.
- When enabled, visitors will be automatically redirected to your preferred format (either www.mybrand.com or mybrand.com), ensuring only one version of your domain is used.
• Subdirectory Settings: This setting determines whether the redirect applies to the main domain only or also to its subpages.
- When enabled, redirection will also apply to all URLs under your domain (e.g., /blog, /contact, /support, etc.), ensuring the entire website follows the same redirect rule.
9. Once done, click
Add Redirects.
10. Done! Successfully setting up domain redirection should look like the following, with the redirects added successfully prompt. You may also click the drop-down menu to view the list of destination URLs and
Delete Redirects from there if needed.
