Import email from other hosting provider into Z.com

Transferring your Email service from another email provider to Z.com service can be a doubting process, however if the old provider uses cPanel then transferring email with us can be done seamlessly

In this guide:

I. Back-up your email data from current service provider’s cPanel
II. Re-creating all email accounts on Z.com cPanel
III. Upload your email Back-up to Z.com server through cPanel

 

 

Start to create back-up of your current email data

1. Login to your cPanel account, navigate to Files area and click to open File Manager.

 

2. On your account’s home directory, locate the Mail folder, highlight to select.

3. Right-click on the Mail directory, select Compress then choose your back-up compression extensions from .zip, .tar, .tar.gz, .tar.bz2. This guide we will use a Zip file back-up.

4. You can rename the back-up file or leave the name as it is. To proceed the back-up click on the Compress File button. Wait for the compression to complete, locate the zip back-up file stored on your account home directory. To download, right-click on the compressed file and click download to complete the back-up process.

Creating all email accounts on Z.com cPanel

Create all the email accounts just as you did in the old server.

From your cPanel dashboard go to Mail area, click Email Accounts tab >> +Create to create all email accounts.

Upload your email Back-up to Z.com server through cPanel

Once all email account has been created, you may now proceed uploading your email back-up from the old server.

1. Open File Manager on your cPanel dashboard.

2. Upload your backup to the root directory of your service. Your current backup is a .zip file. Once uploaded, decompress the backup file and confirm overwriting the existing mail folder/directory to load all your email contents from the previous cPanel.

This process ensures that all email data stored in your previous cPanel is copied to the Z.com server.

Done. Confirm whether all email account data has been transferred successfully. If any email account contains no data, please reprocess the email backup from the old server and repeat the process from the beginning.
