How to set up an email or change my account settings.

Why am I unable to send/receive emails?

If you are experiencing difficulties with your cPanel email account, rest assured that you are not alone. Many users encounter similar issues, often traced back to email authentication settings (like DMARC or DKIM) or mistaken spam flagging.

Common causes of email delivery issues

The following are two of the most frequent causes:

1. Your email activity was flagged as spam

If you send emails that resemble spam, even unintentionally, your email account or domain might get temporarily blocked or have its sending rate reduced. This can affect both outgoing and incoming email.

Common triggers include:

• Sending bulk emails from personal mail accounts
• Using suspicious or misleading subject lines
• Including unverified links or attachments
• A sudden spike in sending volume

What you can do:

• Avoid using personal mailboxes for marketing or mass emails
• Use clean, honest subject lines and content
• Check if your IP or domain is blacklisted using tools like MXToolbox

2. Invalid or missing DNS records (DKIM, DMARC, SPF)

To protect against spoofing and phishing, most email servers use DNS authentication records like DKIM, DMARC, and SPF. If any of these are missing or misconfigured, your emails may:

• Be rejected by the recipient servers
• Land in the spam/junk folder
• Fail to send entirely

What you can do:

• Log in to your cPanel account
• Navigate to: Email > Email Deliverability
• Review the status of:
SPF (Sender Policy Framework)
DKIM (DomainKeys Identified Mail)
DMARC (Domain-based Message Authentication, Reporting, and Conformance)

If you see any errors or warnings, click Repair next to each to correct them automatically.

Quick troubleshooting checklist

• Check that your mailbox is not full
• Confirm you are using the correct email settings (IMAP/SMTP or Webmail)
• Make sure your domain name is active and not expired
• Try sending from a different IP or network (in case your current IP is blocked)
• Review bounce-back or error messages for specific clues
