How to restore backups in cPanel
The restore feature allows you to recover and restore your website’s backups easily. You can restore your home directory backups, MySQL databases, email forwarders, and email filters separately. This feature is useful when you want to revert your website to a previous state or recover lost data.
Backup files are typically stored as tar with a .tar.gz file extension and can be restored from your local computer. For a guide on how to create backups in cPanel, refer here.
Note: You should only use backups generated via the Download a Home Directory Backup option. A full backup is an image copy of your cPanel data. Automatic restoration of full backup is not possible. To restore from a full backup, extract the backup file and retrieve the specific data manually. Please take note of all unnecessary files/folders that will take up disk space within your account.
1. Access cPanel directly through your Z.com account.
2. Once you have reached the cPanel dashboard, locate Backup under Files.

3. If you wish to restore the files in your Home Directory, click Choose file to select the backup file you wish to restore. You can also restore the files in your Database, Email Forwarders, or Email Filters.

4. Click Upload.

5. You will be prompted with a Success notification. This means that the backup file was uploaded and restored.
