Domain Forwarding, also known as URL redirecting, allows visitors to be direct to a different location on the internet (such as an existing website of an online store/blog, your Facebook page, portfolio, etc.).
For example, yourdomainname.com >> yourdomainname.net.
It includes two options:
1) Forwarding only – When visitors type yourdomainname.com in their web browser, they will be redirected to the website yourdomainname.net, with yourdomainname.net reflected at the browser address.
2) Forwarding with masking – When visitors type yourdomainname.com in their web browser, they will redirect it to yourdomainname.net. However, their browser address will continue to show yourdomainname.com.
